ASUS Zenfone Night Photography Test

In my last posts around #MyAsusZenFone I did tell you that when  Asus Zenphone 5 came for the review,  I had given  it to my Daddy to try his hands at this new smartphone. Since he really clicked some bright and colorful pictures, the camera looked capable and I decided to try my hands at it.  As a blogger, I consider a smartphone smart only when it clicks nice pictures both in the day and in the night.

Asus Zenphone 5 has a Corning® Gorilla® Glass, GloveTouch and the new ASUS ZenUI along with a  8 megapixel camera, 5-element optical formula lens,  f/2.0 aperture and ASUS’ PixelMaster with interesting enhancement features too. The beautification, low light, turbo mode are quite handy. HDR mode is effective indeed. I noticed that the phone covers the brightness and colors quite effectively.

Over a few days, I captured night pictures with the camera and you can see some interesting results below.

Highest Indian Flag at Faridabad , Sector 12 at Town Park

This open dining area in Hauz Khas had colorful lights and Asus Zenphone 5 captured it well

This is a food picture clicked in another restaurant in Delhi that has dim lights and just a glowing yellow bulb that hangs above each table

With Asus Zenphone 5, this was again clicked at an open dining place

Noida Agra expressway in the late evening- This picture was taken from the inside of the car.

The close -up picture of this ice-cream treat. Zenphone 5 captured the colors pretty well Human figurines in the party lights- Color accuracy and uniformity is pretty decent.

My niece playing in the park in the night– The best chosen from Time rewind option

Its not that these are the best shots taken by a smartphone but I was happy with the above pictures because at the pricing Asus Zenphone comes, it definitely makes a good bet.

  • The low light mode can be used for video recording in the night too
  • The ZenFone 5 utilizes a Sony BSI CMOS sensor
  • Largan lens which are used by top mobile brands are also used in Zenphone

This is the third post for #MyAsusZenFone
