TAIPEI 101 is excited about 2017

New Year

There is an amazing excitement about New Year’s eve in Taiwan. TAIPEI 101 is all prepared to welcome 2017 differently.

The turn of the year is always a celebratory moment and we all love to welcome the NEW YEAR in style. From Niagara Falls to Burj Khalifa, most of the world’s iconic attractions make preparations to celebrate the annual extravaganza with incredible fireworks and light. Over the years, some of these New Year eve celebrations have become legendary and people travel from far and near to enjoy the no-expense, colorful and perfectly synchronized fireworks. I know what it feels like to stand in the shadow of Burj Khalifa in Dubai and see the fireworks turn the sky magnificent but there can be nothing more exciting like celebrating the eve at a new place every year. If given a chance, I would love to see the New Year Eve fireworks of London, Sydney, Auckland and more. In fact, this year I was really interested in catching up with the glories of the Taipei 101 fireworks.  Taipei 101 Tower or Taipei Financial Center is a treasured skyscraper. It used to be the tallest building in the world from 2004 to 2009 when it was surpassed in height by Burj Dubai. Most of the travel news had been diligently telling me that Taiwan is all set to welcome 2017 with a bang! Hubby and I did consider traveling to Taiwan but we couldn’t freeze on the plan timely. Honestly, I have been keen to visit Taiwan since last year when I had written my last post – Traveling to Taiwan, lets read this first!

Ranked among the world’s top 15 hot spring destinations, known for its scenic Sun Moon Lake, being world’s top mountain biking destination and famous as one of the most friendliest countries of the world, Taiwan could be your next destination too.  For now, let us check why is everyone talking about Taipei’s fireworks.

Taipei 101 skyscraper will have fireworks. 2017 show has been designed by Giant Show Co., a local firework design and production company. The building will be decorated with around 800 lights with an addition of 200 lights that will be installed in its surrounding areas. This year, Taipei 101 also has something new to offer along with its fireworks display. No more a secret now, the fireworks will be accompanied by a light show!

Not only the gorgeous looking fireworks and light shows, Taipei 101 also introduced France’s famous Strasbourg Christmas Market this year.  The market featured colorful decorative lights, along with gourmet food till Christmas Day.

The light show will not be the end to celebrate the beginning of 2017. Taipei – the capital city of Taiwan has exciting night life too and the party goes on after the fireworks. Starting from shopping to satiating your belly with mouth watering Taiwanese cuisine, the night life of Taiwan is fantastic. Especially for the New Years Eve, one can visit Room 18 and Luxyin Taipei to enjoy their rooftop party. Club hopping was definitely on my cards. As I writing about it, I am really pained about not being able to make my plan.

The New Year Eve Fireworks

As I have learnt from others,  the fireworks can be viewed best from the riverside parks.

This is very thoughtful of the government and will help people to enjoy without worries. City buses will run till 2:00 am and the MRT services will operate for 24 hours on the New Years Eve.

2016 is almost over and its time we decide our New Years plan before it’s too late.  Let us also wish for lovely celebrations at Taipei and hope things go as planned.

If you are in Taiwan, do send me your experience.

For other who are planning a trip to Taiwan, I will keep you posted with the visa details and others in my next post.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
