#BERGERXP – PAINTING THE HOUSE IS NO MORE OLD SCHOOL

Manjulika, @manjulika5, Travel blogger

If you have read Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain, you definitely know the trick to dupe your friends in getting the walls painted in one day else you would choose to go for a tooth extraction.

Before the meet:  I had no doubts about the fact that painting the house can be an agonizing task.

After the meet:  I was convinced enough to convince my family back home that most of the ‘pain’ in ‘painting’ had been extracted by the express technology and latest innovations.

A few hours with Berger Paints had changed my perception completely.

Saturday was a super fun day. It was almost like living a chapter from childhood. I had chosen to spend my afternoon at Taj Vivanta in Dwarka. The occasion was special because it was an Indiblogger meet. This time they had come together with Berger Paints to paint the day colorful. And by the time we winded up the day, we had not only dirtied our hands with colors and sand but also learned about express painting tools, premium services, dust-free homes and many more milestones that have revolutionized the world of colorful homes.

BLOGGERS MAKE GOOD FRIENDS!

Not all but most of the bloggers make good friends. I like catching up with my set of people. What better than Indi-meets.

The first phase of the meet was about networking over lunch. And I believe that eating together makes a great ice breaking session. We tend to bond slightly better over great food. In fact, I love Indi meets for two reasons. First, it helps to meet old friends who share the same passion towards blogging. Second, it always helps to connect with more bloggers, discover some new faces and find some hidden talents.

THE ICE BREAKING SESSION PULLED US OUT OF OUR CATNAP

When it is a Saturday afternoon and you have just had great food, it is likely to bring in laziness. If the surroundings are warm and comfortable, you are pulled into a power nap too. What followed next was just the opposite. It was thoughtfully and purposely planned to wake us up, pull us out our slumber and make us run around the hall. The activity was as such that each one of us was given an envelope which had 5 pieces of paper which either had snippets or urls of 5 bloggers. We had to read the descriptions and identify the faces behind the blog. One could also use the mike to shout out for help or just walk around the tables and look for the owner of the blog. After finding them, we had to take their sign, make a bommerang or simply take a selfie. It was one cool activity and in no time it put us all on our toes. I sprang up, looked for my set of people and completed the activity before anyone else. It won me an e-voucher of Rs. 2500.

THE SESSION WITH MR. VINOD DAS WAS NO LESS THAN AN EPISODE OF C.I.D

Mr. Vinod Das Head-Consumer Services & Business Development – ‎Berger Paints India Ltd. took us through the urbanization of painting. And while he introduced us to a whole new world of painting, we scrutinized him with too many questions. Our interrogation did not end until we had had a change of heart.

Painting services had undergone a revolution. Faster, Cleaner and Better is the new mantra and professional service was just a call away. One can get sparkling results with the no-mess tools! The premium services were offered at the same prices as conventional ones and one could easily re-do the colors of the walls anytime before the big party. No more, one had to avoid those family members who kept nagging- When are you getting the house painted?

He also told us that India needed more skilled painters. There is a need of 20,000 painters almost every month for the next one year.

WE SCRUBBED IT WITH A SANDPAPER AND GOT OUR HANDS DIRTY WITH COLORS

These two activities that took us back into our childhood.

It started up with dressing up with a mask,  gloves and a cap. Well, we were not preparing for dissection but smoothing a painted surface with sandpaper. We were divided into teams of 8 and together we had to give it a smooth shine. This was a race against time.

The second round was about painting a sheet on a given topic. We had the topic ‘Festivals of India’ to our self and we had a blast playing with colors. The picture below sums it up for us.

  1. Can you write some ideas about car’s painting (aerographics)? I think you can make a great success in it!
