An Itinerary of a Wellness Vacation – Yoga, Spa, Diet and More

Yoga at Naad

In the rat race where there is a run for everything under the sun, how many of us really think of slowing down and investing some time into our wellness. Well, until we fall ill, we rarely care to stop. We all know that exercising is must, proportionately balanced food is healthy, good sleep is important and rejuvenation of the body with massages is healing, yet we continue to postpone as much as we can. We refuse to acknowledge that our mind, body, and spirit needs a break from the self-inflicted tensions. We keep draining our energy due to stress and most of the time we don’t even know that we need emotional healing, health empowerment and time for introspection. Here come in the wellness retreats and spa centers which not only give us a break from the monotonous city life but also make us aware of the needs of our body.

My recent visit to NAAD WELLNESS set my fundamentals on wellness retreats right. I am a regular with spa and body massages but this was a unique and perfectly organized vacation for my holistic well being. I really liked the fact that a very well thought of itinerary was designed as per my body needs.

Wellness Itinerary!

While you might think why do you need an itinerary at a wellness center, I would say it has a great role to play.

As a traveler, I know that itinerary is as important as an experience itself. What do you think? Doesn’t it give you more clarity on how to do and what to do? Some say that a dangling timer is bothersome but in my view it helps to keep things organised and helps everyone make the best use of time. I am extremely fond of itineraries and like to abide by them too. They lend me a sense of freedom from unnecessary waste of time. I am sure you have had itineraries of all kinds, of places that you have visited but I bet not everyday we across a chart that talks about diet, yoga, spa, therapies where in the aim is to achieve vitality, routine correction and balance of mind and body.

Trust me timing really matters. Body needs to be tuned to a healthy clock cycle. Every action performed at a particular time contributes to happy and blissful days. A fixed time for your morning drink, exercise, breakfast, lunch, recreational activities, evening refreshments, dinner and post dinner drinks can really be very helpful for de-stressing. I have come to realize that a guided wellness program has multiple benefits. The whole process of body healing goes to another level. You just stick to the regime for good 3 days and you will know the magic it does to your body.

Seven key highlights of my wellness vacation

While a number of things stood out for me while I was on a retreat, the below seven things were the key highlights of my stay at Naad Wellness. It is definitely one of the rare places where you do experience positive changes on your face and inside the body.

  1. Healthy and nutrient rich vegetarian food.
  2. Amazing Spa treatments and therapies
  3. Regular Yoga and state-of-the-art gym
  4. Sports and fun activities
  5. Leisure or personal time
  6. Weight watching
  7. World class facility, open spaces, utmost cleanliness and lush green environment

I also liked their philosophy wherein they believe that human body is a musical instrument, which needs to be tuned well to produce beautiful melodies. A hectic life creates lethargy and illness. Therefore, with array of authentic treatments and therapies, Naad helps to tune our five senses for a healthier and fulfilling life.

13 spa and massage rooms

I have never seen a space maintained so neat and clean and green from inside. It stays spic and span forever. No doubt, it is not situated in the Himalayas so it doesn’t claim for the purest air but it definitely has more than five hundred indoor plants and a lush outdoor. It is located in a peaceful location, far from the din of the city. No doubt, it is located just on the outskirts of the capital, hence air quality and greenery will have to be maintained always.

Indulge to know

At Naad, I was literally spoiled for choices. The treatment and therapies that they provide is one of the best and the list is endless. I would like to name some like Abhyanga, Sarvangadhara, Shashtikashali Pinda Sweda, Enema, Salt Glow Oil Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Deep Tissue massage, Thai Massage, Naad Sparsh, Acupressure, Mud wrap, Reflexology, Turkish Hammam, Colon Hydrotherapy, Salt Cave Therapy, Body Scrub, Balinese, Detoxifying, Udwarthanam, Shiroabhyanga and more.

You really have to be there to experience the peaceful and positive vibes of the place.  Among the four massages that I experienced, my personal favorites are Thai and Therapeutic massage. Every string of the body seemed relaxed and back to its place. My body felt lighter and fitter. I would also recommend Himalayan Salt Cave therapy to know what is all about. It is almost like being close to the sea and very good for respiratory healing.

While you are there, expect some healthy juices and spiced water minus tea and coffee. From fresh fruits to cutlets made from raw banana to Zucchini soup to complete thaali to moong daal cheela, they ensure that you don’t miss the food at home.  I literally waited for the surprises during each meal. My mornings began with yoga and ended only after playing night golf on the terrace which had a six hole setup. I used my evenings for playing badminton and lawn tennis. The time between the massages was well utilized in the swimming pool. The fact that got me into the habit of having milk before sleeping is something that I want to stick to. I literally took a break from everything and pampered myself to the hilt. They pampered me and helped me realize the importance of  self-care and health.

It was a perfect couple wellness retreat!Couple wellness retreat, luxury couple spa in Delhi

Naad Wellness is a boutique wellness centre located just before Sonepat, on the outskirts of New Delhi. I visited the center on a media invite but the views are all mine. This is just my version of the story. My next post will talk about how this wellness getaway can be a beautiful getaway for couples. It really helped me and my husband to spend some personal time together. From Yoga classes to afternoon strolls to evening badminton games to golf fun, we really enjoyed the isolation from projects, meetings and deadlines.
