Agenda Aajtak 2013: Hindi Jagat ka Mahamanch

Kuch Khyal Jo Badelenge Desh Ka Haal

4th and 5th December 2013 enriched me with an experience like never before. I am yet to get over the feeling of the two crazy days wherein I witnessed enthralling sessions of dialogues and discussions, sizzling live performances, power packed debates, priceless exchange of political gyaan, prolific punches and much more.  Indeed, it was a conclave of celebrities from field of politics, music and Bollywood. This magnanimous show which deserves all praise was put together by the leading news channel Aaj Tak.

The Agenda of the show in sync with its name was to question the existing flaws, exchange thoughts on burning issues, pinpoint the grave challenges and ideate new thoughts. The bright and brazen took over the center stage and put forth their views and opinions without a second thought.  This was the place where the leaders from the two major parties of the country fought about their ideologies and future of the country, the women bunch eloquently demanded the need for women reservation in politics, the Article 370 was questioned, the religion should not be used for vote bank was demanded and governance flaws were pitched high. At the same time when political thoughts reverberated in the large hall in Le Meridien in New Delhi, legendary singers, comedian of present times, social activist and Bollywood heartthrobs won over our hearts with their  sensuous charm and entertainment quotient.

Though I am not very sure if the politicians really meant what they said but honestly I quite liked many of them and would really look forward to hear them more. Especially the senior leaders like Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Jairam Ramesh, Bindra Karat, Arun Jaitley, Nitin Gadkari talked sensible, each one maintaining his or her own stand. I wish they really behaved this way other times also when in parliament and together worked for the country’s progress than for individual interests. For me the two day event turned out to be enlightening, thought-provoking, empowering, illusionary, intelligent, and humorous.

I would love to share the juicy pick up lines, glitz and glamorous quotes, cheery exchange of thoughts, views & verdicts from the people that formed the elite guest list of the event… Time to roll!!!

There is a video as well on youtube which carries my tiny piece of interaction with my all time favorite.  🙂
