Neung Roi - Thai food in Delhi

Are you itching to visit Thailand? Are you missing the shop-till -you-drop kind of vibes of Bangkok? Are you reminiscing the memories of the amazing Thai food? Well, we are all part of the same tribe. The good news is that we will be travelling there very soon, without much restrictions and long quarantines. But for now, there is an instant remedy to pamper your taste buds. In Delhi, those who are fond of authentic Thai food, must know where to head to. Neung Roi inside Radisson Blu Plaza, in its most subtle outlook has always met expectations. It not only impresses everyone with its culinary specialities of Thailand but also acquaints food lovers with the flavours of the various regions of the country. My friends and family have always been fond of this place for it never fails to take us all on a unique culinary journey.

A lot has changed over pandemic but now that most of the things are looking up and we are getting used to the ‘new normal’, let us not shy from doing what we love. With all precautions in place, we must pamper us once in a while. NEUNG ROI wants us back. It has been relaunched with an extended menu of Soy that will be serving cuisines from South East Asian countries in addition to their Thai speciality. This news will definitely excite the food lovers in the capital.

I had the priviledge of reliving the flavours and fun of Thai cuisine at the ‘Amazing Thailand‘ media lunch there, a couple of days ago. In addition, the Thai food and rebranded Soy X Neung Roi was a reason to celebrate.

Amazing Thailand Media Networking Lunch at Neung Roi

The agenda of the meet was to catch up on the latest news on Thailand travel from India, attend a live cooking session and indulge in some great Thai food at Neung Roi. Gradual re-opening of Thailand starting with Phuket under Sandbox model was discussed.

The live cooking session with the chef Srinivasan Govindarajan was delightful as well as an insightful session. It is always a good idea to pick a few tips from professionals.

And last but not the least, the USP of the event was the curated Thai lunch. I ate all the good things. It felt extremely good to be pampered like pre-pandemic days.

Veg Thai Food was my choice

I am consciously coverting to a vegetarian lifestyle and I am glad I did not miss the Thai fun despite my restricted choices. Neung Roi has always been balanced in its offerings. They have delicious options for vegetarians. And they did not disappoint me this time as well.

The three course meal started with Miang Kham and ended with amazing dessert. The salads, the coconut milk soup, the stir fry veggies, and main course rekindled my love for Thai food once again. I loved pad Thai and green Thai curry. Also, do you know Thai paan is eaten before meal, unlike the Banarasi paan of India.

Hope the chefs continues to create magic and Soy X Neung Roi keeps pampering us with tantalizing international cuisine.

Latest updates about Quarantine rules for travellers to Thailand

Under the new quarantine regulations approved by the Royal Thai Government, fully vaccinated foreign tourists visiting Phuket, Surat Thani, Phang-Nga, and Krabi via the relevant sandbox programmes will be required to quarantine for only 7 days (earlier it was 14), before being able to move on to other parts of Thailand. Sandbox plan is a new model that has been conceived to let the travelers who are fully vaccinated to enter Thailand without quarantine. But currently, one has to undergo quarantine.

The reduced quarantine time applies to those visiting under the “Sandbox” programme to Phuket, Surat Thani (Ko Samui, Ko Pha-ngan, and Ko Tao), Phang-Nga (Khao Lak and Ko Yao), and Krabi (Ko Phi Phi, Ko Ngai and Railay Beach).
