Happy Babies of my family

Pamper Baby, advertisement, Ayaana

I do not have a baby yet but in the past two years there have been two little additions in my family. My brother’s kiddo has just turned an year and my sister in laws baby is one and a half. Both the babies keep us on our toes whenever they visit us. It feels as if childhood has come to revisit us in different forms.

Personally speaking I like kids but I can’t handle when they are cranky. At  times it becomes very difficult to keep them cheerful. When they were one month old, they had only two things to do either they cried or they din’t. They could go on to wail endlessly and their parents have no clue what to do to pep them up. No books or fixed methods act savior as every kid has their own way of making peace with their surroundings.

Along with the first time parents, I must say I have been learning too. Each time they come visiting us, they have interesting gyaan to share with me. And there are many things that I have picked up looking at their behavior. First, happiness is not something that one can give them. No toy, no artificial stuff can bring the smile on their face until they themselves feel happy inside. Keeping the child’s blues away is definitely a mystery and God bless you if you have a colicky baby.

Here is a list of happy things that I have observed about the kiddos at my place.

  • They sleep peacefully till their tummy is full.  Keeping a tab on the tummy time is essential.
  • Vibrant colors attract them. I have seen my niece attracted to everything that’s in Red.
  • My nephew loves to crawl and my niece is all happy walking around. Both love to change places.
  • Babies these days are born artists.  The faintest of Honey Singh beats can get my niece tapping her feet, raising her shoulders and the smile that comes with it is priceless.
  • Did I tell you both of them love playing with spoons and bowls? Oh yes! a spoon and bowl in their hand is all they want and they can go on banging them all around the house.
  • My brother also tells me that my nephew loves to see the fan moving. He follows the circling fan and the moment you switch it off, he starts crying.
  • My niece too has found her latest fascination. She loves to play with the bedroom switch lights. When everyone is asleep, she gets up and starts doing the tick-tock.
  • Well, both of them have nothing to do with books as of now. One loves to tear them off and other only recognizes D for dog and loves calling it waow…waow..

There may be a list of things that makes our babies happy but what keeps them dry and happy is Pampers. I wonder how people in the old days handled kids without these dry pants because babies favorite job is to pee at the most unexpected times. Its absolutely important to keep them dry and soft every time. Seriously, without a dry diaper, I can’t imagine kids calm and happy.
