LEISURE, LOVE, LIFE– enjoy and soak no more!!

The contest on Indiblogger says….
Q…   WHAT DO YOU THINK OF WHEN YOU HEAR THE WORDS “SOAK NO MORE”?

A...

First Thoughts….

Since I read about this contest at my workstation, I could think of only one thing– me forcefully SOAKED into work after office timings when I least wanted to do it. Well, it was my unhappy state of mind that made me think that way. I blamed my ruthless manager for this who kept me soaked in the mundane office works. In fact my imagination knew no bounds and I wished if Surf Excel Matic could come up with a solution to keep my boss in check.

I wanted to shut down my laptop and leave my workstation. I yearned to be with my friends and family. Why was I working when everyone was in a celebration mood… just for the paltry increment… Finally, my heart said to my mind ‘SOAK NO MORE’ and just let it go….

😉 🙂

On my way home I had my thoughts flowing,

In the daily grind, we miss so much..

No time to enjoy the leisures..

No thoughts to love each other..

No strength to sustain the vagaries of life..

Are we Lost or are we soaked in the emptiness..

I know its happening, the clock is ticking…

Time, I have lost it already…

I pray for the rest of it..

God! Soak me into…Leisure, Love, Life..

Amen!!!

Secondary Thoughts….

Another day, in a happy state of mind… I soak myself  in the topic once again..
Now I think differently. And the mention of the word ‘SOAK’  brings beautiful and varied thoughts in my mind.
In fact, it strikes chord with four things that are related to soaking….

1.RAINS

2.CLOTHES

3.RICE/LEGUMES/CHICKPEAS

4. BLISS

  • I am sure we all love to get drenched in the downpour. Its such a lovely feeling. The first rains always make our heart flutter and dance to the tune of the spitter-spatter. There’s no second thought to it that we all love to get soaked in the rains. But what if you stepped out of the house for an important work, a meeting or an urgent assignment and it starts raining unexpectedly. A light drizzle would not be a problem but if its cats and dogs, I am sure our lips start muttering prayers to GOD—- ‘SOAK NO MORE PLEASE’.

  • Its been an all time tradition to soak clothes overnight or maybe a few hours before actually struggling with them/ washing them. This habit has been passed on for years from our mothers. We all have known it  and passed it on that to get rid off the tough stains, soaking first and then washing eases the  job of the person doing it. But what if the new Surf Excel Matic comes up with a solution. Now it has the power of “Vibrating Molecules” to penetrate deeply embedded stains & remove them effectively,  so no soaking before washing with the new Surf Excel Matic! Sounds exciting and relieving— doesn’t it. So now my clothes say—- ‘SOAK NO MORE PLEASE’.

  • Next comes another place where lots of soaking is done– in the kitchen. I  have been exploring my culinary skills lately. For Legumes and rice, it is always advisable to soak, rinse and then cook in new water. It makes the legumes tender and easily digestible. In fact there are different soaking times for different beans. Rice need to be soaked for about half an hour but chickpeas need an overnight soaking. I hope the ladies in the kitchen agree with me. So what’s your take on this– SOAK or SOAK NO MORE? Well I would love to soak them , cook them and savour the flavour. But kitchen is one place which shouldn’t only be for the females, males should equally go in and offer them a hand and next time do some soaking before cooking. On a lighter note, when the lady of the house has to do all the chores of the house by herself, she may get tired one day and say— ‘SOAK NO MORE PLEASE’.

😉

  • Finally, how does soaking connect to bliss. Well it does. A long walk and then some foot soaking. Isn’t it bliss? Soaking in this case can be fun and relaxing here. It helps to forget all our pains and just soak into the small fun of life. Basically when I talk of foot soaking, I want to make everyone realise that how a small action for ourselves helps us to achieve a pain free life. Similarly small steps towards the goodness of all can help us to live a life beautifully. When a person ends his or her life, I am sure they take this worse step in the worst of conditions. They feel there life is completely soaked in nothingness and they take a step so hard. Lets not let the conditions in life get so worse. Its high time we realise that the charm of life lies in living it

‘SOAK NO MORE PLEASE’ in the daily grinds for materialistic gains, enjoy the leisures and love your life.

Life is too short… enjoy it to the fullest from your morning coffee till the goodnight prayers.

I want to give a lot of adjective to this write up but failed to do so, as my vocabulary soaks in with this article. Finally two words cop up in my mind – ati sunder. Bahut khub. Keep it up.
